“CorpoREacción” (2014-) is an ironic and surreal interpretation of the body and consists of recent work: outrageous body extensions, un/wearables, and playful performative pieces with a political message which aim to achieve changes in our sensory experience and challenge the gender stereotypes. The pieces embrace and juxtapose opposing elements such as domesticity and sexual unruliness.
The series is beased on body extensions and is comprised of various sections such as: Experiments in Flexible Structures; Remembrance and Remains; Body Politics; Breast Matters; Hairy Pieces; Performance. Most of the pieces are “ready-made assisted,” made out of everyday household objects, sponges and hair rollers combined with textiles, dolls eyes and human hair. Other pieces are large body sculptures or even textile “body overtures”.
Spin-off collaborative projects featuring the “CorpoREacción” pieces include exhibitions, performances, the mixed-media publication “Impure” and the sci-fi photo-novel and film “Transexpace”.
The solo exhibition “CorpoREacción” was part of the international contemporary event Melting Point València 2014. Some of the pieces were only presented in photographic format, including photographs by Toni Cordero in collaboration with the artists Jennifer Picken and Graham Bell Tornado, and other pieces were shown in action in the “Performance: CorpoREactive Show”.
The show was full of surprises and counted with the special participation of MC Msieur Demodé (Doctor in Pataphysics), Jennifer Picken (Face of the Year of CorpoREacción), Graham Bell Tornado (B-Side of C.RE.A/Shaman Travestí), Eva Pez (Aphrodite Shibarita) and Rampova Kabaret (Performer Anar-Queer). A video and trailer of the show “Pasarela CorpoREactiva” has been produced by Ana Wika and was shown in the Russafart Festival 2016.

Other pieces of this series were employed in the theatrical happening “Transformismos” en el Theatre Musical TEM in Valencia in 2015, in the theatre production “Matadero Club” for the Intramurs Festival 2016, in the performance “Erotique” at the Valencia Sex Fest 2016 and in the performance “Transexpace” at the Ivam, Museum of Contemporary Arts in Valencia in 2016.

A selection of pieces made out of human and animalk remains were shown in the Vanitas Corporeacción Show “Memento Mori: Remembrance and Remains” at the opening night party of the Cabanyal Intim Festival, in the Fábrica de Hielo, Valencia on 5th may 2016 with the performers Graham Bell Tornado, Jose Ramón Alarcón, Jennifer Picken, Eva Pez, Liz Dust, Mad Vicious and special appearances by Isabel Caballero and the photographer Toni Cordero.The show was a modern Vanitas, representing the emptiness of all mortal things and the inevitability of death.

“CorpoREacción” (2014 –) es una interpretación del cuerpo surreal e irónica y presenta provocadoras extensiones del cuerpo, un/wearables y lúdicas piezas performáticas y reivindicativas, que cuestionan los estereotipos de género y combinan elementos opuestos como la domesticidad y la rebeldía sexual. La mayoría de las piezas son “ready-mades” asistidas, empleando objetos domésticos cotidianos. Otras son extensiones y esculturas corporales de técnica mixta y otras son coberturas corporales textiles.
“CorpoREacción” ha sido el punto de partida para exposiciónes, performances y publicaciones como “Impure” y la foto-novela y cortometraje de ciencia-ficción “Transexpace”.
La exposición individual “CorpoREacción” ha participado en el evento internacional Melting Point València 2014. Algunas de las piezas se han presentado exclusivamente en formato fotográfico con fotografías realizadas por Toni Cordero en colaboración con los artistas Jennifer Picken y Graham Bell Tornado y otras solo en la “Performance: Pasarela CorpoREactiva” que ha contado con la participación especial del MC Msieur Demodé (Doctor en Patafísica), Jennifer Picken (Face of the Year de CorpoREacción), Graham Bell Tornado (Cara B de C.RE.A./Chamán Travesti), Eva Pez (Afrodita Shibarita) Rampova Kabaret (Performer Anar-Queer). El video de la “Pasarela CorpoREactiva” producido por Ana Wika ha sido proyectado para acompañar la expo de Anna Maria Staiano en el festival Russafart 2016

Otras piezas han sido empleadas en la acción teatral “Transformismos” en el Teatro Musicas TEM de Valencia en 2015, en la obra teatral “Matadero Club” en el Festival Intramurs 2016, en la performance “Erotique”, en el Valencia Sex Fest 2016 y en la performance “Transexpace” en el Ivam, Museo de Arte Moderno de Valenciaen 2016.
Una selección de piezas con restos humanos y animales ha desfilado en el Vanitas Show de CorpoREacción “Memento Mori: Remembrance and Remains” (Recuerdos y Restos). en la Pasarela de la inauguración del Festival Cabanyal Intim, en la Fábrica de Hielo en Valencia el 5 de mayo 2016. Un Vanitas moderno que representaba la “vacuidad de todas las cosas mortales y la inevitabilidad de la muerte”, con lxs performers Graham Bell Tornado, Jose Ramón Alarcón, Jennifer Picken, Eva Pez, Liz Dust, Mad Vicious y la participación especial de Isabel Caballero y el fotografo Toni Cordero.
