The series “Body Bags” are body silhouettes, that put into question the condition, essence, construction and representation of women. “Qu’est-ce qu ́une femme?”
The first 4 bags named “Ceci n´est pas une…” criticise the stereotypical and binary representation of women as angels of the house or, on the contrary, tarts.
The series is completed by “Mat(t)er Nature” an ironic take on the natural/artificial dichotomy and by “Battlefield”, where the silhouette of an hybrid cyborg female is ready to fight back, gassing the attacker or shooting a bullet from her clitoris.
The pieces include objets trouvés whose meaning is resignified, so that everyday household objects become surreal anatomical forms, juxtaposing opposing elements such as domesticity and sexual unruliness.
The 6 bags are made using sewing techniques and with materials associated with domestic labour traditionally carried out by women. The body bags are worn over the bust, highlighting the contrast between reality and its representation.

La serie Body Bags (Bolsos Corporales, 2014-2016) cuestiona y explora la condición, esencia, construcción y representación de la mujer. “Qu’est-ce qu’une femme?”
Las primera 4 siluetas corporales bajo el titulo “Ceci n´est pas une…” critican la representación estereotípica y binaria de la mujer como ángel del hogar o, su opuesto, la ramera.
La serie se completa con “Mat(t)er Nature” una visión irónica sobre la dicotomía natural / artificial y con “Battlefield”, donde la silueta de una mujer cyborg híbrida está lista para defenderse, gaseando al atacante o disparando una bala de su clítoris.
Las 6 piezas incorporan objets trouvés que subvierten su significado, de esta forma los objetos cotidianos se convierten en formas anatómicas surreales, yuxtaponiendo elementos opuestos como la domesticidad y la rebeldía sexual.
Los bolsos están realizados con técnicas de costura y con materiales asociados a las labores domésticas tradicionalmente llevadas a cabo por las mujeres.
Se llevan puestos encima del torso, mostrando el contraste entre la representación y la realidad.
